Let's face it, a Democrat is going to win in '08. The Republican field pretty much sucks, except for Sam Brownback who is a real longshot at this point.
So the question is, which Democrat do we want to win? Which Democrat will be better for the country? Which Democrat will be better in foreign policy?
The answer is most definitely Hillary. Edwards would be a disaster, the thought of that left-wing trial-lawyer doofus being President at this time in our history is frightening. Obama is a very smart and capable guy, but he strikes me as much farther to the left than Hillary. Richardson is a possible v-p candidate, but he is probably too obese and underfunded to be President. Hillary is a solid moderate, will do some dumb liberal things in office to please the base, but I think it's safe to predict that she will mostly govern as a centrist. I think the right-wing hatred for her is to a large degree irrational, since she is the most conservative Democrat out there now.
